Recently I updated my laptop to Windows 10 from 7 using the Windows update system. Just to be clear, I did not reformat with the Windows After performing the update, all of my programs ware still installed and so far all of them are operational.

However, my Office suit says it is no longer activated. I have the product key and have attempted to re-licence it several times. I have even gone as far as to re-install Office.

So far I have had no luck. I have reported the issue to Microsoft via the feedback feature but Im sure that will get me no where. I was just wondering if any fellow spiceheads have ran into this issue, and if so, did you get it resolved? Thanks in advance. Then I'd recommend phoning Microsoft Support directly with this issue.

Because it's a licensing issue it sounds like something only they'd be able to resolve. Aside that, if you've only upgraded from a previous version of Windows, to Windows 10, it shouldn't need reactivating. Have you downloaded the needed Office updates with Technical Preview. Open Word, Excel, Outlook, etc any of those and select check for updates.

I had to do that for my Outlook to work with Technical Preview Good luck. I called Microsoft Support and they are pretty worthless. I explained that this was a copy of Office given to me by my school. They explained that I needed the install files from my school.

I told them that I do in fact have those files and it still wont activate. They basically refused to do anything to help. I dont think I will be calling Microsoft support ever again for anything!

I am now trying Stephen's suggestion and installing the optional updates. I will keep you posted on the results. And thank you guys for all your help. It's possible they've given you a serial that will only activate when you're in school via their KMS server. I have activated this key on my desktop at home as well as my laptop, so this is not likely the problem unfortunately.

Well, after contacting the powers-that-be at my school, it turns out that they have blocked that licence key in favor of Office :. So by upgrading to Windows 10 revoked the licence and I can no longer activate it. It would seem that they are forcing me to use I guess I will have to go the route.

My Office does not wok after installing Windows When I try telephone activation it does not recognize my product key. I purchased it from an office store and have the box and product key Helllp!! I would recommend calling Microsoft and talking to someone. That was how I found out what my issue was.

I purchased Office from a vendor in April and Microsoft allowed me to activate it. It worked seamlessly until December when Windows 10 upgrade performed a product key check and came up with the key now being invalid. MS now reports that the vendor illegally sold the key to more than people and now that key is locked it out for everybody.

What MS is doing here is illegal - first validating the key, then killing it when it's too late to have reasonable recourse with the vendor who recently told me to take a hike. I made this statement to a Supervisor in the Volume Licensing Department, said that I shouldn't have to suffer for Microsoft's licensing activation deficiencies, and stated that they owed me a new complimentary key.

The Supervisor disagreed and gave me no option other than to buy another license. The seller distributing the key to multiple users was wrong, but Microsoft's actions are equally as wrong and potentially illegal. The consumer's confirmation that a license is valid is through Microsoft's acceptance of the key. Microsoft can't first say that it's good, and then years later change their mind and say that it's bad.

I hope somebody initiates a class-action lawsuit against Microsoft to force them to issue free keys to any user who at one time had a valid key and has since been rejected. Windows 10 will not accept MS office because that is how MS programmed It forces a whole bunch more people to invest in the new office suit, Office IMO, There isn't an issue with Vendors selling wrong keys I got mine from Best Buy.
